Now to the point of this post: if you support sin you are engaging in a hatred of infinite proportion. It is said by the cultural elite that those who do not support the LGBT community hate them. But I cannot see love in the act of cheering on those who taunt God's wrath.
There is no doubt in my personal experience I totally struck out in this at times as I am sure most men reading this have as well. Because we are biologically different: both sexes have a responsibility to seek out knowledge of their partner and insure discussion takes place with clarification in the marriage relationship. Usually, the wife stands ready for this.
What exactly is slavery? Slavery as we know it, from the context of the north Atlantic slave trade, is somewhat of a new thing. Of course, this concept has been around since shortly after the fall of man but not on this scale. This form of slavery is more then just forcing someone else to do something that they do not wish to do: the enslavement of Africans was a total denial of their personhood.
Why do we marry one another? Is it for the culture and community building? Is it for the intimacy? There are many answers to this questions and I think that each one has a real impact on how a marriage operates. Now before you click away because this may feel like it doesn’t apply to you let me assure you: you have a reason to be married. You may not be immediately aware of your reason but it is there, just below the surface, informing your decisions regarding your marriage life.
I think that it is easier to manipulate your spouse then one first might assume. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 7:5, dealt with manipulation when he tells us not to deprive one another of sexual intercourse except as we agree for a short time to devote ourselves to prayer. This is a powerful form of fasting for some because it has a heavy impact on their psyche.
From a secular viewpoint, especially an evolutionary one, why should all women, or any woman for that matter, be seen as equal to any man? Should not the stronger being call the shots? In many cases the community of men are stronger and therefore, from the logical outcome of a secular worldview, these men should be able to simply dictate how much worth the women in their community have.
This has a major effect on our current topic: if ethics is reduced to might makes right, and therefore rights are logically only granted to the strong man, personhood can only logically be granted to the strongman. Friedrich Nietzsche recognized this. But the reality of this conclusion has not been admitted by many other secular philosophers. In short: Naturalism means that there can be no such thing as a durable idea of personhood. The world in chaotic violence is the only true world.
Babies are murdered everyday. At one time we as a race could say that we spent more of our time killing those who at least had the possibly of defending themselves, however wretched those killings might have been. I believe that this point in our history as a race reveals a depravity so deep that one might faint if they had not grown up desensitized and sheltered from the carnage, as we are.
Few books capture my imagination from cover to cover. Sure a book can have moments where what I am reading ignites my inner eye and takes me on a journey, but that doesn’t seem to be that common. Even in fictional books. I love to read and I read often but many times the author has my attention not my imagination. Gay Girl Good God by Jackie Hill-Perry captured my imagination.
